Mexico Relief Support

An interdenominational group of Chicago churches have gotten together to develop a plan and border permits to send at least 7 semi trailer boxes to different areas affected by the recent 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Mexico: mainly to Morelos, Puebla, Guerrero and Oaxaca. The group is headed by pastor Jorge Fuentes from Red de Oracion USA ( and Pastor Shando Valdez from New Jerusalem church here in Chicago. So far, with much collaboration from different churches, they have been able to fill 3 semis trailers. 

They are asking for donations of several essentials:

  • Blankets
  • Detergent
  • Women's hygiene products
  • Toilet paper
  • Soap
  • Tooth brushes
  • Antibiotic ointment
  • Antidiarrheal medicine
  • Tylenol
  • Ibuprofen
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Bandages
  • Flash lights
  • Batteries
  • Tents
  • Baby and adult diapers 

Non-perishable food: 

  • Rice
  • Canned Beans
  • Lentils
  • Cooking oil
  • Sugar
  • Water bottles
  • Powdered milk

Donations are accepted 24 hours a day for the next two weeks at:

These donations will be driven to the border and delivered via truck and train to various partner churches in affected areas. In addition, they are asking for financial contributions as well in order to transport these items to the churches in those particular regions of Mexico. The estimate is around $5000 per semi box. If you would like to donate please call 224-808-8391 and speak to Laurie Miranda.


The impact of Hurricane maria on Puerto Rico appears absolutely devastating. Much is still unknown and volunteer aid does not yet seem possible. As soon as help becomes possible we will share more information.
