Jose and Joann Carrillo
New Life Community Church shared a vision to plant 10 international churches in cities by 2020. As part of that vision José & Joann Carrillo visited Querétaro, México in 2012.
During that trip they felt that the Lord was leading them to move to Querétaro and specifically to move into Las Margaritas-slum near where the church was planted.
This was confirmed by a verse given to José--2 Corinthians 8:9. "...that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich."
In 2015, José & Joann with their children moved to Querétaro. After many closed doors the Lord prepared a way for the Carrillos to move into Las Margaritas slum area in October 2017. Many of the families that live in Las Margaritas have dysfunctional homes: abuse (verbal, sexual and physical), neglect of kids, fatherless homes, poverty, no hope for life and future, etc. These families and homes are in ruins just like the walls in Jerusalem were in Nehemiah 1:3. In December 2017, Jose was reading the book Nehemiah, the Lord spoke to him about how we (the CHURCH) can begin to help rebuild/restore these families.
