READ
6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
REFLECT
We worship the giver of every good gift. It’s no surprise that he calls us to give, too. Giving begins in the heart. Without the correct heart posture, even the most valuable gift can be worthless before God. Do not focus on what you can get from giving. Instead, give whatever you have decided cheerfully; enjoy the privilege of blessing someone else. Be generous with your resources, time, talents, and attention. Trust that in your giving, God will grant blessing.
PRAY
You are the giver of all I possess, God. I am a steward. Guide me in generosity, as I set out to sow good seeds with my money, time, and abilities. As I help meet the needs of those around me, I believe you will provide all mine. While I give out of the little I have, you give out of the riches of your love. Thank you for your good and generous example, God. Amen.
