READ
13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
REFLECT
With twelve simple words in verse 13, Paul summarizes the Gospel message that has altered generations and generations of human lives. Everyone (man and woman, Jew and Gentile, enslaved and free) who calls (actively) on the Lord will (certainly) be saved. But how do people know to call on the Lord? Our mission as disciples is to preach the good news of our Savior's death and resurrection so that others may grow to know, love, and trust him, too.
RESPOND
Thank you for the mentors, teachers, and preachers who have pointed me to your cross, God. I pray that you give me the boldness to share the truth of your Word freely and compassionately with the people around me. Guide me as my actions and words may be the only Gospel my neighbors and friends ever read. Amen.
