Day 19 – Jude 20-21

20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

REFLECT

This passage reveals two ways we could all continue to live in the reality of God’s love. First, by building ourselves up in the most holy faith. This looks like dedicating yourself to consistent spiritual practices. You alone are responsible for maturing in your faith. Read your Bible. Find fellowship in Christian community. Attend Sunday services. Encourage a brother or sister. Secondly, pray in the Holy Spirit. All of the previously listed practices are hollow without prayer. Invite the Spirit in and see God move.

RESPOND

Lord, today, I take ownership of my faith. I am responsible for growing in knowledge and wisdom. Others can walk alongside me, but no one else can live out my faith for me. I commit to consistent prayer and Bible study beyond these 21 days. When I don’t have the words to say in prayer, let your Spirit guide me. When doubts cloud my heart and mind, let your Word shine a clarifying, comforting light. Amen.
