Day 4 – John 16:1-15

READ

12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

REFLECT

Before ascending to heaven, Jesus had much more to share with his followers. For that reason, the Holy Spirit filled the early church in Acts. It is the Spirit that guided the apostles in all truth. By the Spirit, Peter welcomed Gentiles – non-Jewish people – into the faith. By the Spirit, Paul taught us to run the race marked for us with endurance. By the Spirit, we live dedicated to knowing and loving Christ more.

RESPOND

Your work is ongoing but never without purpose, Lord. Thank you for the gift of your Spirit. Make my heart sensitive to its leading. Give me ears to hear its guidance and the will to obey your ways. Let all I say and do glorify you. I pray that I grow more and more into a faithful ambassador of your mercy, justice, and peace. Amen.
