Session 1: Wrestling with God in Dark Places!
Text: Genesis 32:22-32 (NIV)
Theme: Identity, Struggle, and Transformation
1. What is something in your life right now that feels like a “wrestling match”—something nagging, stretching, or challenging you?
2. Have you ever felt like you were hiding who you really are, like Jacob did before the wrestle? What would it take to be more honest with God and with others?
3. Jacob walked away from his struggle with a limp and a new name. If God could rename you today—not based on your past, but your potential—what would He call you?
Session 2: Wrestling with God Through Loss
Text: Ruth 1 (NIV)
Theme: Bitterness, Loyalty, and Unseen Redemption
1. Have you ever felt like Sister Naomi—so hurt or disappointed that you started to believe God was against you? How did you respond?
2. What “Ruths” has God placed in your life—people who’ve stuck with you when you were hurting, or spoke truth when you wanted to give up?
3. What would choosing “better over bitter” look like for you right now? What practical steps could you take this week to begin moving forward in faith?
Session 3: Wrestling with God: Insecurity, Purpose, and God’s Persistence
Text: Exodus 3–4 (NIV)
1. What is the burning bush in your life right now—something God keeps bringing up, but you keep trying to ignore or hide from?
2. Which excuse do you relate to most from Moses and why?
• Who am I?
• What if they don’t believe me?
• I’m not good at that
• Send someone else?
3. What would it look like for you to say “yes” to what God is calling you to do, even if you’re scared or feel unqualified?
