9 Week Challenge
Get ready for the 9 Week Challenge! Over the next 9 weeks, we’ll be looking at different spiritual practices and calling you to action. James 1:22 says, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” The Bible is meant to be lived out and we’re going to do that together one week at a time.
Each morning before you go about your day, read through these statements out-loud, reminding yourself of your identity in Jesus.
I am a CHILD OF GOD
And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Romans 8:15-16
I am an AMBASSADOR
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. 2 Corinthians 5:20
I am LOVED
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1
I am part of GOD’S FAMILY
You are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household. Ephesians 2:19
I am MADE NEW
If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
I am REDEEMED
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace. Ephesians 1:7
I am MADE FOR A PURPOSE
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
I am one with HOPE
In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. 1 Peter 1:3-4
I am NEVER GIVEN UP ON
…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
Read your Bible 5 days in a row by following the book of James.
Day 1 – James 1
Prayer: “Lord help me to persevere when I face trials in life.”
Day 2 – James 2
Prayer: “Lord help me to love you and love others well.”
Day 3 – James 3
Prayer: “Lord help me to guard my words, thoughts, and actions.”
Day 4 – James 4
Prayer: “Lord help me to walk in humility and submit to your will.”
Day 5 – James 5
Prayer: “Lord help me to receive your grace and mercy.”
Read Psalm 119 and reflect on God's Word using these questions:
1. Is there an example for me to follow?
2. Is there a sin to avoid?
3. Is there a promise to claim?
4. Is there a prayer to repeat?
5. Is there a command to obey?
6. Is there a condition to meet?
7. Is there a verse to memorize?
8. Is there an error to mark?
9. Is there a challenge to face?

During this next week have a meal with a group of people inside of a home (Christians and/or non-Christians). To complete this challenge, you can host the gathering or attend a gathering, but the key is to do it within a home. During the meal go around and share the high and low of the past week. Pray for each other!
Write out the story of how you encountered Jesus. Do this by answering these three questions: #1: What was your life like before Jesus? #2: How did you meet Jesus and what happened? #3: What has changed in your life now that Jesus is your Lord? Make sure the entire story can be shared in five minutes or less. NOW, share this story with someone else (preferably an unbeliever) or on social media!
Set aside an hour within this next week to prayer walk around your neighborhood. Pray before you go out that God would guide this hour and would open doors for spiritual conversations. As you walk, pray for every house, business, and person that you pass (you can pray out loud). Look for opportunities to talk with people as you walk. If you get into a conversation, first listen to the other person, and then share that you are out praying over the community. Ask if there is anything that YOU can pray for THEM!
Find someone to give to in a stretching way. Examples: pay for a meal, pay for someone’s gas, pay for someone behind you in a drive through, pay for someone’s groceries, give someone in need money
