Session One:
- What was one key “takeaway” or “a-ha” moment from the morning session?
- How would you define religion? What are things that a “religious” person does in your point of view?
- Relationships come in all forms (more than just romantic). What are the characteristics of a healthy relationship?
- How do the actions of the unnamed woman in Luke 7 compare to those of Simon the Pharisee? What do you think this reveals about how they view Jesus?
- What do you think drove the woman to approach Jesus at the dinner? Why did Simon react the way he did? What were their motivations?
- Do you find yourself feeling like you have to “do” certain things to “earn” points or approval from God? (How has that looked or felt as you reflect back on it?)
Session Two:
- How has Jesus impacted your life through what he's done? How does that inspire you to love him more?
- The woman in the story disregards the norms of the culture to boldly show her love for Jesus. What is a bold way you can show your love for what Jesus has done for you?
- What will you need to take this step?(Support, faith, a plan)? What might stand in the way of you taking that step (fear, shyness, shame)?
- Based on what you took away from this session, how will you change the way you engage with Jesus?
- How do you plan to nurture your relationship and intimacy with Jesus going forward?
