We know that showing up to a new place for the first time can be intimidating. At New Life Community Church it’s our desire that you feel right at home from the moment you pull into the parking lot! As a first-time guest, you are VIP to us so we'll be there with you every step of the way!
Our Kids Zone is available for children kindergarten through fifth grade at every service. The care and spiritual growth of every child is our highest priority and our passion is to create fun, Bible-driven, interactive lessons especially designed for your kids! Kids Zone is available every Sunday except for the 5th Sunday.
At New Life Community Church, there's no dress code and no judgement. Some show up in suits or dresses, and others wear t-shirts and jeans. We want you to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable!
Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Garrette and Tanisha Horne
Garrette and his wife Tanisha live in Hammond Indiana and are committed to bringing the gospel to urban communities. In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Garrette has worked in community organizing, education and social services. Tanisha is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a strong focus on women’s issues and marriage counseling. They’ve been married since 2005 and have the privilege of parenting six children together. Having served on the New Life team since 2018, they are excited to see God continue bringing hope and redemption to Northwest Indiana.
Pastor Jose & Marisela Perez
Jose and Marisela Perez have served at New Life Community Church for over 26 years. Originally from Mexico—Marisela from Puebla and Jose from Mexico City—they married more than 28 years ago and are proud parents of three children, now young adults.
Marisela currently works as a kitchen manager at a child daycare center, while Jose works as a Special Education Classroom Assistant. In their free time, they enjoy going to the movies, dancing, and simply spending quality time together.
Over the years, Jose and Marisela have been actively involved in a wide range of ministries at New Life. Their service has included leadership roles in small groups, Kids Zone, youth ministry, marriage life groups, and community evangelism. They have also helped plant churches throughout the Chicagoland area.
Deeply passionate about discipleship, Jose and Marisela are committed to training and equipping others in God’s Word. They have worked closely with numerous families, emphasizing the importance of building their homes on the firm foundation of Christ and exemplifying God’s love in everyday life.
Today, Jose and Marisela continue to invest their lives in expanding the Kingdom of God and serving His people with excellence and compassion. They serve as Associate Pastors of the Spanish Congregation at New Life Hammond, remaining steadfast in their commitment to faithfully steward all that God has entrusted to them. They give all glory to the Lord for the path He has guided them on throughout their ministry journey.
