Can I invite friends from school?
Yes! This is a great event to invite friends to. You can send them the link for information. Your location leader should also have invitation cards for you to pass out.
When is drop off?
Check-in starts as early as 8am. A good plan is to arrive no later than 8:45am
Will there be food?
Yes. Lunch and dinner meals are included in the cost of the event.
What if I am allergic?
You may indicate dietary restrictions in the registration form.
What do i need to bring?
Bibles, notebooks, writing utensil, a water bottle if desired (drinks will be provided at meal times), money for merch if desired, friends(!).
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes to last through a day of sitting, walking, and minor activity. If you plan to attend one of the more active workshops (ex: dance, group game) you can bring athletic shoes or a change of clothes.
How much is merch?
Merch prices vary. Example costs for items are $20-$40.
What is the parent parallel workshop?
We want to help equip parents as they live out their own faith and support their teenagers in doing the same. The Parents Workshop will happen at 7pm in parallel with the evening main session. This workshop will be led by a professional mental health counselor covering a topic relevant to current issues and concerns around teenagers and mental health. Plus, parents will join our closing session at the end of the night and be ready to pick up their students right after the event ends.
Are students allowed to arrive late?
Yes, we understand some students might have school functions/ sports practice earlier in the day. It is okay if they get dropped off late and meet up with your group, though we highly encourage participating for the full event if possible.
Should youth leaders bring anything additionally?
Leaders are encouraged to bring board games/cards for students that may be used during free time.
What if my New Life location doesn't have a youth group?
Talk to your location pastor or a leader about getting into contact with the youth group from another location or email zacharya@newlifechicago.org to get connected (or is there a different, general email we can use?).
Do we need to wear our team colors?
Locations are welcome to, but we will not be splitting up into teams or competing for a trophy at the conference.
