Galen and his wife Brooke live in the Roger’s Park neighborhood and are committed to bringing the gospel to the north side of Chicago. Having grown up in Michigan, Galen moved to Chicago for school and graduated from Moody Bible Institute. He and his wife have been a part of New Life since moving to Chicago and are excited to see God continue to bring redemption to this city through the continued work of His church.

Corey and Susan Chan — Location Elder

Corey and his wife Susan live in Rogers Park with their 4 children. Corey is a native Chicagoan and grew up on the Northside just 4 miles from where he lives now.  Susan was born and raised in Spain as a missionary kid. They have been a part of New Life Community church for 6 years. They have a strong desire to see the local church be the hands and feet of Jesus in our neighborhood and fulfill the vision of being a family of love who corporates with God in making fully devoted fruitful followers of Christ.

Ignace and Danielle Mba - Location Elder

Ignace, his wife Danielle, and his daughter Lindsey live in Evanston. Ignace is a native of Cameroon, Africa, where he grew up and Danielle was raised in a Southern Suburb of Chicago. Ignace has been a part of New Life Community church for over 10 years and was part of the original team that planted New Life Rogers Park. As a couple, their desire is to serve the Lord in their local church and further the Great Commission wherever the Lord places them.

Chasity Davenport - Youth Leader

Hi! I’m Chasity. I was born and raised in Pascagoula, Mississippi, but for the past five years, Rogers Park has become home. A big part of that has been Jesus, the church, and the amazing community I’ve found here at New Life. I’m a passionate youth leader who loves walking alongside young people as they grow in their faith. Whether it’s through deep conversations, fun hangouts, youth group nights, or simply doing life together—I believe in the power of showing up, building relationships, and pointing teens to Jesus in real, everyday ways. My heart is to help equip the next generation to know God, walk in His truth, and live as image-bearers of Christ in their families, friendships, schools, and beyond. They matter, they belong, and they have a purpose. But my heart doesn't stop with teens - I also care deeply for parents. I understand the challenges families face, and I love supporting parents as they guide their children. We're in this together and I believe that strong faith- filled families create strong communities. I’m so grateful to be part of what God is doing here in Rogers Park!

Jermaine (JJ) and Mary Johnson - Youth Leaders

Jermaine (JJ) and Mary Johnson have been married since Oct 2017. They have a 6yr old son named DeAndre Johnson. JJ has been working with youth since 1999. Some of the programs he's been in are, S.L.A.M, By the Hand, Sunshine gospel ministry, and Young Life. JJ came to New Life Rogers Park in 2017, where he is currently serving as a youth leader alongside other leaders. JJ hopes to one day become a youth/senior pastor one day.

Isabel Pitcher

Isabel lives in Evanston after moving there for college, but she grew up in many different states and countries as a missionary kid—including Minnesota and South Africa. A lover of sunsets, cats, a good cup of Yorkshire tea and the perfect spot to read, she would spend a free Saturday exploring new neighborhoods and cooking for her friends and family. She finds a lot of beauty and joy in the world God created, and the precious people He has made in His own image, and part of the reason she’s been doing youth ministry for the past year is because she loves learning more about and walking alongside them!
